Energy Performance Certificates
Energy Performance Certificates or EPCs are a requirement by law when selling or renting a property.
So, what is an EPC?
Briefly, the EPC provides information relating to the relative running cost of a property. The document may also include recommendations on how to improve the efficiency further, and an estimation of savings if the improvement works are carried out.
The energy efficiency is rated from 100 - 1 ( or A - G ) with A being the highest band. The higher the band or number, the less the running costs of the property.
We have in-house energy assessors who are able to provide EPCs and offer further advice as appropriate.
An EPC is required when selling or renting a property. The validity of a certificate is currently 10 years.
For rental properties, the EPC of the property MUST be rated band E (39) or higher.
Under normal circumstances, we will provide the EPC at an agreed cost as part of our service. This will ensure that the certificate is in place when required.
